The Basic Skills Agency is for practitioners, teachers, and parents and provides information on current approaches to raising standards of Skills for Life in the U.K.

Basic Skills Professional Development Centre
The Basic Skills Professional Development Centre is based at Staffordshire University.  Their aim is to increase the ability of organisations, across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, to more effectively deliver the Skills for Life agenda.

The centre: assists providers through capacity building activities and provides a resource and materials bank for providers of Skills for Life. delivers Level 3 and 4 courses for people/organisations delivering Skills for Life in any capacity and also offers a variety of one day workshops open to anyone who may be involved with adults with Skills for Life needs.

The Get On Campaign website has been developed to help promote the Basic Skills - Get On Campaign. The main aim of the campaign is to help adults improve their reading, writing, language and maths. It is also for people who want to help friends and family members improve their Essential Skills.
